As part of our trip we went diving in reef off of Marathon Key. Since Brad wasn't SCUBA certified, he decided to do SNUBA. SNUBA is a mix of SCUBA and snorkeling. You are tethered to a raft with air being provided through a tube.

There were only a couple other divers on the trip - a father and son. They were going with an instructor on one of their final checkout dives. Because of this, Chad was going to tag along with Brad doing SNUBA.

On the first dive, we pulled up near the Sombrero Key Light. The SCUBA divers jumped in first with three groups of SNUBA divers following behind. It took some time for the groups to get in the water and Brad was in the last group. Chad got sick and a little worn out bobbing around waiting for the final group to get in the water. Because of this, he decided to sit the first dive out.

On the second dive, the father decided not to go with his son and Chad went along with the divers. This ended up working out great and everyone was down between 40-60 minutes.

At the end of the dive, we were waiting to get out of the water. Arriving at the surface, Chad threw up. He felt much better - having probably swallowed a lot of water on the first dive. Less than a minute later he heaved another two times. The chunks filled the water in the surrounding area. The instructor and others were saying how Chad was a like a god to the fish and that they would be happy he was feeding them.

Though things didn't go as planned, we still had a great time. We saw a lot of little fish, a shark, a large green eel swimming through the water, a lobster, a crab, and a couple other smaller eels.
