We signed up for a dune buggy ride through the Everglades. This was the last great adventure of our Florida Keys trip. Before leaving for the trip, visions of jumping alligators in the swamps ran through our minds.

We arrived early at an agricultural area outside of Florida City, FL. There were several dune buggies lined up in a row ready for us to get going. We put on our head covers, helmets, and masks and were off.

There were four total dune buggies, all running together in a line. The first one was the leader, who operated the tour. We started off behind them with the last two behind us.

There hadn't been rain for a couple weeks, so the dirt roads were dry and dusty. We held back far enough not to choke on the dust and to give us enough runway to attempt jumping in the larger ruts in the road.

It turned out not to be an Everglades trip at all. We drove through the farms growing all kinds of produce such as: tomatoes, sweat potatoes, green beans, mangos, and other fruits.

The two buggies must have gotten tired of our trailing behind because they both passed us early on in the ride. This was OK with us because it allowed for more autonomy.

At the half way point, we stopped for a break and switched who was driving. Chad drove the first half and Brad finished strong.

There were a few larger puddles. At first we went around them. However, the further along we went, the more we embraced the puddles as opportunities for adventure. By the end of the ride, we were both soaked and muddy - the largest puddles sending walls of water gushing towards us.
